Non Executive Support

I have come across some strange reasons for wanting a Non Exec on board, and whilst the role can grow and develop through time, the key purpose is to participate fully in the functioning of the board, advising, supporting, and asking the right questions of the management team. A benefit is to provide an objective view of the progress and achievement of the key aims of the business.

I hope the Website provides you with a clear insight into what I do, and I’m happy to hear your comments, positively or otherwise.

My Non Exec role at 9-20 Recruitment

This story continues to be an exciting one.

The MD led a MBO in early 2013, and at the time of this website being completed (October 2014), the growth is summarised as staffing numbers moving from 3 to 24, and climbing, with the revenue heading towards a 200% year on year growth.

See below a testimonial from the MD.

"Alan joined the business in November 2013 in a Non Exec role. The reasons were really straightforward. I hadn’t grown a business to the size and turnover expected through our business plans. Alan had been there and done it. He started on 2 days a month, however as the expansion plans were going so well, and his contribution key to that growth, we agreed that he increased his time with us, and is now a critical figure in the journey ahead. He provides strategic support and direction to me and my senior team. He is objective in his view and clear in his communication. The growth whilst very exciting, has obviously brought people challenges from time to time, and this is where Alan can also support and direct me and the team to look at things from a different perspective. The comfort in having Alan here is that he provides some welcome calm and direction to me, and can also mentor and support the management team in my absence. I would say that every business owner needs someone to be honest and objective in their outlook and support, and I would highly recommend that you chat to Alan to see if there is a fit with you and your business."
